Get :: Kid Cudi "Man on the Moon: End of Day"

Wow. That's the first word that comes to mind in reference to this album. Kid Cudi definitely exceeded my expectations. I thought it'd be good, but not this good.

I admittedly was not open to listening to it initially. Why? Haha! If you know me then you know full well that I can hold a grudge...FOREVER! I had personal beef with Cudi for a while. Click here to find out why.

I kind of like the fact that I listened to this album with a bias. It was almost like he indirectly told me, "I'm going to make you like me." He succeeded. In his debut LP, Scott stays true to himself with experimental sounds and spacey lyrics that make for a ridiculously great compilation of music. One of my favorite things is that he has Common doing Morgan Freeman-esque narration of his journey.

I would post a link, but the last time I did that blogger.com shut me down temporarily. Haha! So, I'll try say...find a copy wherever you can. It's definitely worth purchasing though, in case you're not into piracy like I am.

I'm a little late, but I wanted to acknowledge the passing of one of the music industry's best. Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM was found dead on Friday August 28, in his New York apartment. Details have not been released as of yet but many reports indicate that drug paraphernalia was found near the body. He was 36 years old.

This is so very tragic. I had the opportunity to meet AM last year at the Carmelo Anthony M5 release party. It was shortly after his recovery from the plane crash that nearly claimed he and Travis Barker's life. He seemed like he had such a renewed sense of purpose. He was in great spirits and obliged my request for a photo and even stood and had a conversation with me for a while.

RIP big homie...
