FAITH EVANS X SOMETHING ABOUT FAITH

If you follow me on Twitter you're already aware of the fact that in addition to my own work, I also serve as assistant to brilliant celebrity wardrobe stylist, Monique Scott. Among her list of clients is one of the reigning Queens of R&B, Faith Evans! I've had the pleasure of working with Miss Dunaway on everything from her promotional photos to music videos for her long awaited return.

I was fortunate enough to have heard the new album months ago and only one word comes to mind --- DAMN! Faith and her music are definitely what the world of music has been missing. Her powerful, sultry voice along with the seductive melodies on the album have all the makings for yet another classic.

DIGGY X AIRBORNE (MIXTAPE)

Talk about shock and awe! While obsessively watching Run's House in college, I definitely expected young Diggy Simmons to make a name for himself in the fashion industry, but if you'd told me he'd be a dope hip hop artist too, I would have laughed in your face. Well, five years later Digg is definitely the one having the last laugh. To my surprise, after a few years and puberty Simmons has recently released one of my favorite mixtapes of 2010 --- working with the likes of Lupe Fiasco and Pharrell Williams.

DAMANI

You might remember a few months ago I did a post on West coast music and the climate of it. One of the most frustrating things as a native Angeleno is not having the world recognize the evolution that Westcoast hip hop has taken on in the last 20 years. It seems as if every other region has gone through their changes and received widespread praise. But everyone still believes our story and sound can be summed up by the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and The Game alone. That couldn't be further from the truth!

One of the most unrated West coast rappers, hailing from Inglewood, is lyrical heavyweight Damani! Although he's worked with the aforementioned artists, he's differentiated himself with...well, substance. He tells stories of an LA-native with a totally fresh approach.
