Hmmm...kudos to CNN for the "Black in America" specials this week. If you're like me, you were glued to your TV Wednesday and Thursday night for the 2 hour segments. I was intrigued by the mere fact that CNN, or any network for that matter, was progressive enough to delve into the complexities of being an African-American in this country - unwelcome citizens, hated and most emulated, feared marvels. While I believe that they could have gone deeper into some of the issues in the 4 hours they had, I still applaud CNN for their...audacity!

CNN does = Politics

I was disappointed with CNN's "effort".

They took isolated examples of Blacks struggling and tried to make it seem like those 10 people represented black America.

The part that killed me was the one about the black kid in high school who said "I tried to be black...I got my hair braided and everything!"
I bet the edited out the part where Soledad O'Sellout bursted out in laughter and offered that poor confused boy some watermelon...

In all honesty, Fox News Channel would have done a better job examining black America.

If you're gonna do a show about a certain ethnic group, cover all the bases, don't be half-assed about it.
