Oh, Joel...

I was going to take a break from blogging today to take care of some personal things. I have A LOT of great things in the works in my life and I really need to focus right now. I love doing this and I love my social life, but unfortunately having SO much fun and enjoying life has thrown me slightly off track. As a result, you'll see a minor dip in the number of posts over the next month. Sorry. I need to take care of business.

Anyway, I don't know how much I've talked about it here, but I do believe in God. I'm not perfect and I don't profess to be. Our heavenly Father knows this and I'm comfortable with being myself. That being said, I wanted to share this with you all today:

If you know me, you know that I'm a very confident person. I have insecurities like all of you, but I've accepted those things and I really like myself. Even with this sense of confidence I still have doubts. Making the decision to attend FIDM next year has been both very exciting and extremely scary at the same time. I've always been expected to do great things and never want to disappoint anyone. Deciding to chase my dream doesn't come with any guarantees so I sometimes second guess the pros and cons of moving forward. But anytime I get a little too fearful, my BlackBerry goes off with an e-mail from pastor/author Joel Osteen. I swear God is speaking directly to me through him and his "Daily Word" e-mails. Today's been a little like the day from hell. I have a lot on my plate and the chef just keeps piling it on. However, reading this e-mail really gave me the extra push I needed to get through the day.

If you haven't already, please click here and sign up for Joel Osteen's Daily Word today. If you don't believe, just sign up for curiousity's sake. No harm in just reading, right?

Be Victory-Minded

Today's Scripture

“The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory” (Psalm 118:14, NLT).

Do you need more joy, victory, and confidence in your life today? You might need to evaluate what you are thinking about on a daily basis. If you go around thinking things like, “I’m just average,” “I’ve already reached my limits,” or, “I’ve missed so many good opportunities,” those thoughts are going to drag you down. Instead, every morning when you wake up, start your day with thoughts of hope and success. Determine to be victory-minded. The Bible tells us that what we think about we will become. When you think thoughts of success, victory, joy and peace, your life will be filled with success, victory, joy, and peace.

No matter what’s going on in the world around you, remember, as a believer in Jesus, greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world. The Greater One lives inside of you! If God is for you, who can be against you? You are an overcomer through Christ. So set your mind on victory and move forward into the abundant life He has for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of another day! I choose to be victory-minded and think on good things today. Remind me, Holy Spirit, to stay focused on the blessings and favor that You have in store for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
